Crews were called to the Chirk Bank area on Saturday night after a car had gone through the wall of a house

A car that smashed into the front room of a house and ended up on its roof was being chased by police before it crashed.

North Wales Police said the vehicle had failed to stop for officers, entered a road closure, collided with a bridge and hit the property on Canal View, Chirk Bank, Shropshire, at about 21:54 GMT on Saturday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene just after 22:00, and said a man, who was driving the car, suffered potentially serious injuries, and was taken to the Riyal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Nobody was in the room at the time of the crash, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service added.

Fire crews from Ellesmere, Oswestry and Wellington attended the crash on the Shropshire-north Wales border alongside police.
