Whitley Bay saw a dramatic sunset amid sweltering temperatures

After an absolute scorcher over the bank holiday, the sunshine kept coming this week, as well as your weather photos.

While some of us may have been nursing sunburns with aloe vera and others thankful for the cooler air, our Weather Watchers have been back out in the field.

Here are some of the snaps they have returned from across the North East and Cumbria.

News imageGeorgia Roper A lake in Penrith which reflects mountains that rise around it, underneath a blue sky with tiny clouds dotted across it. A thick tree branch hangs into the top of the frame, and around the bank of the lake where the photo has been taken, there are bright green bushes and moss-covered boulders. The entire composition looks like it could have been painted by the artist Bob Ross.Georgia Roper
