A 15-year-old boy has been arrested following a fire at a former theatre and town hall on the Isle of Wight.

Flames were visible in the building's top-floor windows as crews battled the blaze on Lind Street, Ryde, after it broke out at about 23:30 BST on 26 August.

It spread to the roof with firefighters bringing the fire at the Grade II listed building near the town's seafront and pier under control in the early hours the following day.

Isle of Wight police said the teenage boy from Ryde, arrested on suspicion of arson, had been bailed with conditions until 28 November.
