Serious crash closes A5 between Weedon and Kilsby

The A5 has been closed in both directions between Weedon and Kilsby, Northamptonshire, following a serious collision involving two cars.

The fire service said it was shut at about 07:30 BST at Watling Street. Police are also in attendance.

National Highways said it was assisting traffic management and due to "collision investigation work and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours".

Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.
