Plans state no offers have been made to continue running the site as a pub

Plans have been put forward to convert a pub in Chesterfield into an assisted living complex.

Richards Consultancy and Projects Ltd has submitted a planning application to Chesterfield Borough Council to convert the Junction Inn, on Pottery Lane East, into accommodation for individuals with assisted living needs.

According to planning documents the traditional pub was "no longer considered commercially viable".

Documents submitted with the application add the proposed complex could have three full-time employees, with space for staff to provide on-site care to the residents.

The property has been on the market for more than a year but has not received any offers to keep running the site as a pub, the documents state.

Chesterfield Borough Council's website says it will make a decision on the proposals by 21 December.
