A jury has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict in the trial of a man accused of murder.

Graham Howard, 49, of Brook Street in Syston, Leicestershire, denies killing Simon Geary between 22 and 23 December 2025.

On Wednesday, Judge Timothy Spencer KC discharged jurors at Leicester Crown Court after they had deliberated for more than 23 hours.

A retrial - which is expected to last three weeks - has been listed for 14 June.
