Two people have been found dead at a house in Cheshire.

The bodies of a 78-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman were found at a property on Grange Park Avenue in Wilmslow on Saturday, Cheshire Police said.

Police attended the address following concerns for the welfare of the occupants.

Detectives said enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident were "ongoing" but added they do not believe there is any third-party involvement.

Det Insp Robert Lees said: "We understand the concern this incident will have likely caused in the local community, and I would like to reassure residents that a thorough investigation is being carried out, and we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter.

"Our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of those involved."
