Three drivers arrested after biker hurt in crash

Three drivers have been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving following a crash that caused life-threatening injuries to a motorcyclist.

The collision, involving three cars and a motorbike, happened in New Milton, Hampshire, on Sunday evening.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened in Ashley Road at the junction with Kings Road at about 17:30 BST.

The rider, a 32-year-old man from Christchurch, Dorset, suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

Police said the vehicles involved were a Suzuki motorbike, a silver Vauxhall Vivaro, a grey Land Rover Evoque and a blue BMW estate.

Officers said a 54-year-old man from the New Forest was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by careless driving.

He has been released under investigation.

A 21-year-old man, also from the New Forest, was held on suspicion of driving while over the specified limit for a specific drug and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been released on bail until December 21.

A 55-year-old woman from the New Forest was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She has been released on bail until December 20.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the crash or the vehicles in the area before the collision are urged to contact Hampshire Police.
