Man arrested after woman, 84, found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of an elderly woman was found at a property in West Sussex.

Police said they were called to Langley Grove, Aldwick, near Bognor Regis at 14:00 BST on Sunday, where the 84-year-old was found dead.

The man, who is local and aged 78, was arrested at the scene.

Detectives said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

Detectives said officers would be at the scene for several days

Det Ch Insp Alex Campbell said: "This is a tragic loss of life and specialist detectives are working hard to understand the full circumstances of the situation.

"There will be a police presence at the property in Langley Grove over the coming days as we gather any evidence, and I ask neighbouring residents for their patience and understanding while this work is carried out."
