A pop-up cinema will visit south Lincolnshire this summer as part of efforts to reach people in more rural locations.

Outdoor screenings will take place at Red Hall in Bourne on 14 August and 5 September during two free family fun days, with other attractions based on the theme of dragons and pirates.

The films will include Raya and the Last Dragon, and Muppet Treasure Island. Later showings will include The Italian Job, starring Michael Caine, and Romeo and Juliet.

An indoor cinema will also visit the South Kesteven villages of Long Bennington, Haconby and Billingborough.

Paul Stokes, deputy leader of South Kesteven District Council, said: "We set out to expand our arts and culture reach into the whole district, and this brilliant summer season is part of that journey.

"We are supporting community venues by bringing cinema to rural locations to reach audiences that may not otherwise get the chance to see some film favourites on their doorstep."

Films being shown in the villages will include How to Train Your Dragon, Hot Fuzz and Wild Robot.

Details of the village events are available on the Stamford Arts Centre website.
