Pedestrian dies after collision with a lorry
GoogleA 43-year-old male pedestrian has died following a collision with a lorry, police have confirmed.
Hertfordshire Police said it was called to the A602, by Coreys Mill Sainsbury's, Stevenage, at about 03:17 BST.
The force said a lorry had been travelling along the road towards the A1 when it was in a collision with the man.
The northbound section of the dual-carriageway was closed for several hours and reopened at about 12:00. The southbound section reopened earlier to allow access to the hospital, Inrix travel said.
The man, from Borehamwood, was treated at the scene by paramedics.
He was taken to hospital and "died as a result of his injuries".
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Sgt Dan Cook, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "We are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in operation to get in touch.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who saw the collision, or the lorry or pedestrian prior to it."
