Boys, 14 and 15, bailed after arson arrests

A 14-year-old and 15-year-old boy have both been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of arson.

Cambridgeshire Police said an officer on patrol came across a house fire in London Road, Peterborough, at about 19:20 BST on Saturday.

The fire service said crews from Stanground, Dogsthorpe, Thorney, Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and an aerial appliance from Corby, Northamptonshire, attended the scene.

The boys, both from Peterborough, have been bailed until 20 September.

The fire service said the incident was scaled down throughout Saturday evening and a road closure was in place.

It added crews reinspected the scene on Sunday and will continue to do so throughout Monday.

No injuries were reported.
