Man dies after being hit by lorry

A man has died after being hit by a lorry in Birmingham.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the junction of Stechford Lane and Stechford Road in Ward End at about 12:20 BST on Thursday.

It quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save the injured pedestrian, a spokesperson said.

He was confirmed dead at the scene.
