Teenage e-scooter rider dies in crash with van

A 14-year-old boy has died after a crash involving the e-scooter he was riding and a van.

Lincolnshire Police said officers were called to Moor Lane in North Hykeham where a collision involving the electronic scooter and a red Ford Transit van happened at about 17:40 BST on Sunday.

The force said the teenager's family was being supported by specially trained officers. "Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time, and we know many others in the local community will mourn his loss," it added.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision or had dashcam footage to get in touch.
