Here's a selection of some events taking place in the city.
West Park

Gates open to ticket holders from 17:00 GMT, with families set to enjoy a funfair, live performances, food and drink stalls, as well as a children's firework display choreographed to music.
Children can also meet characters from charity, More Mascots, in the form of superheroes, princesses or animals as they raise money for gifts and trips for disadvantaged and life-limited children in the Black Country and Birmingham.
The main display will also be choreographed to music, with every firework dancing in time to the beat and lighting the sky, say organisers and two-time British Fireworks Champions, Komodo Events.
