Murder probe as cyclist dies following moped crash
EPAA murder investigation is under way after an e-bike cyclist was found fatally injured from a collision with a moped in west London, the Metropolitan Police has said.
Emergency services were called to North Pole Road, North Kensington, at about 01:20 BST on Friday where the seriously injured 24-year-old man was found. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
Police said inquiries were in the early stages but it was believed the moped had been pursuing the e-bike cyclist prior to the crash.
Dt Ch Insp Neil John said detectives were "pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, including efforts to identify and trace the rider of the moped".
"Our thoughts are with the victim's family at what is a very difficult time," he added.
"We have launched a full investigation and are working hard to get answers and establish exactly what happened.
"As part of this, we're urging anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the e-bike or the moped to get in touch with us as soon as possible. If you have any information that could help, please come forward."
