Man arrested after mobility scooter rider injured

An elderly man riding a mobility scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said

A man in his 90s has been seriously injured after his mobility scooter was involved in a collision at a pedestrian crossing, police have said.

Northamptonshire Police said it happened in Raunds at about 10:40 BST on Thursday.

A white Peugeot 308 was in collision with a black Scooterpac mobility scooter crossing London Road, near the junction with Marshalls Road.

A 79-year-old man, from Raunds, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Police said the crash involved a black Scooterpac mobility scooter

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said they wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash.

They are also appealing for dashcam footage of the incident, or the moments leading up to it.
