The discovery of a lab believed to be making illegal medicines triggered the arrest of four people and the recovery of nine guns.

West Yorkshire Police said the lab, on Whitehall Road, Wortley, was suspected of being used to create "illicit medication". The firearms were seized from an address linked to the investigation on Farrar Lane, Adel.

Three men, aged 46, 44, 38 and a woman, aged 36, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering and the supply of drugs on Tuesday. They were bailed pending further inquiries, a spokesperson for the force said.

"The substances found at the property are not for human consumption and we urge people to avoid buying illicit medication," they added.
