Police are appealing for information after cannabis plants street with a street value of about £2.5m were found

One thousand cannabis plants with an estimated street value of about £2.5m have been discovered after police raided a cannabis farm.

The plants were found at the former Poundland building on Preston Street in Barrow-in-Furness on 11 September.

Cumbria Police said the plants were at various stages of growth and cultivation before they were seized and the operation dismantled.

The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
