Shopfront badly damaged in ram-raid
BBCA car crashed into the front of a shop in Leicester before items were stolen in a ram-raid.
Leicestershire Police said a group of men drove a red Ford Fiesta into the front of the Cash Generator store in Saffron Lane shortly after 03:00 BST on Sunday.
Officers believe three men then entered the store and stole a number of mobile phones and games consoles.
The men left the scene on a motorbike and headed in the direction of the Pork Pie roundabout, the force said.
The owner of the shop, who gave his name as Vijay, said he had not had any issues at the store in the past 12 years.
"We're part of the community, part of the estate, we've never had any problems," he said.
Officers said they were working to identify those involved. No arrests have been made.
Det Sgt Sally Noonan said: "Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and we are currently reviewing all CCTV in the area and speaking to a number of witnesses.
"We are aware there were people in the area who saw what happened and may have filmed the incident on their mobile phone. If you have footage or any information, please come forward.
"Details and video evidence you have could help us catch the people responsible."
