Road closed after 24 tonnes of food waste spilled
Cambridgeshire PoliceA road was closed in both directions for several hours after 24 tonnes of food waste were spilled by a lorry.
Cambridgeshire Police said it had been called to Harrison Way on the A1096 in St Ives at 07:25 BST on Monday.
Travel information supplier Inrix said the spillage had happened between Hemingford Road and Meadow Lane.
A clean-up operation was carried out by the highway authorities. Cambridgeshire County Council said the road had reopened just before 13:00.
