Young kayaker rescued among seven RNLI call-outs
RNLIA young person in an inflatable kayak was rescued from the sea after being blown half a mile off the coast at Fleetwood.
It happened on Wednesday at about 19:30 BST while the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) were on a training exercise.
The RNLI said it was one of seven call-outs it had received in the last three days.
Other calls included rescuing two people cut off by the incoming tide on a sandbank at Cleveleys, welfare concerns at all three piers in Blackpool and a person found in distress in the sea off Gynn Square in Blackpool.
A spokesman for the RNLI told people to "be aware of their surroundings, take note of tides and wind direction, exercising caution with any offshore wind.
"And as ever, if you see anything of concern on the beach or at sea, call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
