The A38 has reopened near Derby after it was closed in both directions following a serious crash.

National Highways said the road was shut between the A516 and the A50 shortly after 13:00 BST on Wednesday.

Derbyshire Police told drivers the road would "remain closed for some time", but have since confirmed it has reopened.

The force thanked motorists for their patience, but added there may still be delays on the road.
