A road closure for maintenance work will leave a ferry only accessible to pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

The B5285 through Near and Far Sawrey in the Lake District will be closed on 8 July while surface dressing is carried out.

The closure will stretch from Lake Bank Coach House to the Windermere Ferry between 08:00 and 17:00 BST.

The ferry will be operating on its usual schedule and outside the road closure times will be accessible by car. The closure order runs for three days, but Westmorland and Furness Council said it is anticipated only one day will be needed.
