Olivia Rodrigo 'had to eat sausage rolls all day' in Welsh town
Rose Ann Bituon-ThomasPop star Olivia Rodrigo has told how she ended up only eating sausage rolls all day during a visit to a Welsh town.
Speaking to Jordan North on Capital Breakfast's After The Show, Show! Rodrigo explained how her American credit card was not accepted when she tried to buy food and drink in Llandudno.
The 21-year-old US singer, famous for hits including Drivers License and Good 4 U, was also spotted shopping at a local Marks & Spencer in November 2024.
She told the presenter she "had this credit card that didn't work in any place that wasn't America. Nobody took it!"
"I had no food at the hotel, and I was just wandering around this town in Wales, and I couldn't find anything to eat," she said.
Rodrigo explained her card "finally worked in a place that served sausage rolls, so I just ate sausage rolls for a whole day".
"Oh, and then a pub took my card. So, sausage rolls and white wine are all I had all day.
"It was kinda cool. Looking back, it was a great memory."
ReutersRodrigo was snapped in the seaside town's Marks and Spencer, where she was approached by a local fan.
"She's been walking around Llandudno for weeks," said store worker Rose Ann Bituon-Thomas, who took a selfie with the singer.
"She came to my conveyor belt - she's so natural. No bodyguards whatsoever. I just talked to her.
"She was very welcoming and talking so calmly. We had a normal conversation, she seemed very relaxed with me, so I did ask if I could have a selfie with her and she was very happy to have one with me."
M&S Parc Llandudno posted on Facebook: "Olivia Rodrigo visiting our store was not on our 2024 bingo card."
The singer was also spotted at several local bars and restaurants, including Da Venezia.
Rodrigo, who has won three Grammy Awards, has just released her third album and is set to head out on a major tour later this year.
