Murder investigation launched after body found
BBCA murder investigation is under way after the body of a man was discovered in a property.
Northamptonshire Police said it believed the man, in his 50s, died several days before his body was found.
Officers went to the property on High Street in Burton Latimer on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a "concern for welfare" call.
Following a forensic post-mortem examination on Thursday at Leicester Royal Infirmary, detectives launched the murder investigation.
It is being led by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
Det Insp Cheryl Thompson said: "We're in the early stages of establishing how the gentleman died and I would appeal for anyone in the High Street area of Burton Latimer and who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the last week to please contact us as a matter of emergency."
