Huge crowds will head to Ashton Court over the weekend

Bristol's biggest music festival is taking place this weekend, so we have put together a helpful guide for those going.

Love Saves the Day will take place over the bank holiday weekend on 23 and 24 May, with more than 30,000 people expected to attend the event at Ashton Court.

The line-up includes big names such as Confidence Man, Girls Don't Sync and Hemdi.

Tom Paine, festival director at the event, said: "Love Saves The Day is kicking off the UK festival season with a fantastic line-up."

Who is on the line-up?

Sub Focus will return and headline the festival on Saturday, with Sammy Virji set to headline on Sunday.

Meanwhile, British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks will reunite and take to the main stage on Sunday.

In a major step towards decarbonising live events, the main stage will be powered using battery technology that has been charged with 100% green energy from the wind and sun.

Paine said: "It's our love letter to music and electronic community, creating a top-quality, inclusive event that also holds environmental responsibility as a central core focus."

When do gates open?

Gates will open at 12:00 BST on both days and the last entry is at 20:00.

There is no general re-entry to the festival, except if there is a medical requirement.

How do I get there?

People can travel via the Love Bus, which will run from the City Centre, Temple Meads Station and Long Ashton Park and Ride.

Buses run from 11:00 until midnight, or until everyone is off site.

There are road closures in place for e-bikes and e-scooters, and speed restrictions on Clanage Road and Kennel Lodge Road.

The only place to park scooters will be the Bower Ashton Parking Zone, in the UWE Bower Ashton campus car park.

What will the weather be like?

It is generally expected to be warm and sunny throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, it is forecast to be sunny all afternoon, with highs of 22C.

On Sunday, highs of up to 26C are expected.
