Knifeman attacks two men before grabbing dog
Eddie MitchellA knifeman seen threatening people in Brighton slashed a man across the face and punched another through the window of a taxi, police have said.
The suspect also chased and grabbed a dog before he was tackled to the ground by members of the public in Sillwood Street at about 18:00 BST on Saturday, Sussex Police added.
The two injured men, aged 28 and 29, were taken to hospital, one with knife wounds to his face and ear, but have since been discharged. The dog was unharmed.
A 33-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody. A knife was seized at the scene.
Eye-witnesses told the BBC they had seen a man lunging through the open back window of a taxi.
Det Insp Stephen Taylor called the incident "distressing" and appealed for witnesses, adding a "thorough investigation is underway".
