Paedophile with 'atrocious intentions' sent to jail

An "abominable" man who sent extreme pornographic and perverted messages has been jailed.

Daniel O'Flynn, 37, was arrested at Hull Paragon railway station a few days after he started speaking on an unregulated porn site to a decoy – someone he believed to be a registered sex offender who had a one-year-old child.

He was handed a 12-year sentence for a string of offences at Hull Crown Court on 19 August, with nine years to be served behind bars and a three-year extended licence period.

O'Flynn, from Hull, had previously pleaded guilty to arranging the commission of the rape of a child, three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, possessing extreme pornography and theft.

He was told he would be on the sex offenders register for life and was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order.

Humberside Police said it launched an investigation in November 2025 after O'Flynn was flagged as sending the extreme pornographic messages.

He was arrested by officers after he arranged to meet the decoy and his phone was analysed, which linked him to the offences.

Det Con Amy Gee said: "O'Flynn is an abominable individual whose online presence showed utterly vile language, behaviour, photos and videos.

"He specifically sought out who he believed to be a registered sex offender who was offering their child for O'Flynn to abuse, all for his own atrocious sexual intentions."
