Three armed men are being hunted after a car was hit multiple times in Glasgow, in what police describe as a "targeted attack".

Officers said a dark blue Renault Clio deliberately crashed into a Nissan Micra on the slip road off the M74 at Polmadie Road at 00:10 on Saturday.

The three men from the Clio, carrying weapons, then approached the silver Micra and caused damage to the car before driving off.

The Clio followed the Micra and further deliberate collisions happened along Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road. There were no reported injuries.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to trace the Clio and the men.

Det Insp Stephen Greenshields said: "We believe this was a targeted attack on the Micra driver and I'm appealing to the public for help to trace those responsible.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to drivers who were in the area around the time and may have seen what happened.

"I'd also ask those with dashcam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, to review this for anything which may assist our inquiries."
