A woman and boy have been taken to hospital following a crash in Leicestershire that led to the partial closure of a major route.

Leicestershire Police said the crash was reported just before 13:30 GMT on Sunday and happened on the A47, between the B6047 crossroads and where the route meets Wood Lane in Tugby.

It involved a single vehicle, with a closure still in place as of 19:00, according to the force.

A police spokesperson said they had no information regarding the condition of the patients and added no-one had been arrested.
