Police get more time to question double murder suspect
BBCPolice have been given extra time to question a man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were found dead in a house in Blackburn.
Ismail Ahmed Leli, 80, and Fatima Leli, 78, were found with stab wounds at a house in Hardman Street at about 08:20 BST on Monday.
Paying tribute, the family described the couple as "inseparable".
They thanked the police for "their diligence, professionalism and compassion" as well as local councillors.
They also thanked the wider community for its "kindness and support", as well as Masjid-e-Quwwatul mosque, which they said had been a "source of strength, comfort and practical support".
Police have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them, but do not believe there is a wider threat to the community.
