Section of town centre car park to close for months
Google MapsPart of a car park is set to temporarily close to make way for building work at a nearby leisure centre.
The changes will affect 28 of the 62 parking spaces available at the St John's Square car park in Daventry, according to West Northamptonshire Council.
It said the partial closure will start from Friday, with work expected to be completed by April 2027.
Richard Butler, West Northamptonshire Council's cabinet member for Highways and Transport, said: "We recognise these temporary access and parking changes will cause some inconvenience and would like to thank people in advance for their patience and understanding during this period."
The council added that access to St John's Square will be via Chapel Lane only, with Abbey Street closed except to pedestrians visiting The Abbey centre.
Drivers will still be able to use other sections of St John's Square car park as well the town's other free spaces across the town.
