A man has been arrested after a suspected arson attack at a home in Kidderminster.

West Mercia Police said emergency services were called to the house fire on Stourbridge Road at about 13:50 BST on Tuesday. The blaze was brought under control and no-one was hurt.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson and remained in custody, police said.

Det Insp Lisa Tibbitts said officers wanted to hear from anyone with information about the fire.

"In particular we are aware of a group of people who were walking towards the flats that are also on Stourbridge Road, who we believe are key witnesses and I urge them to contact us," she said.

She added their early inquiries suggested the fire was an isolated incident with no wider risk to the community.
