School lockdown and girls arrested after 'threats'
Mid Suffolk CouncilTwo teenagers were arrested after a school went into lockdown following reports of threats.
Suffolk Police said it was called at 12:15 BST on Tuesday to Stowmarket High School "after the school reported it had received communications of a threatening nature".
The force said the girls, aged 13 and 14, were arrested at an address in Stowmarket on "suspicion of sending communication threatening death or serious harm."
Both were taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning and have been bailed until 25 November.
In an email sent to parents from the school, a spokesperson said it went into "full lockdown" before it was later lifted and pupils returned to lessons.
It said that all students and staff were safe and the "conduct, maturity and responsibility shown by all students was extremely commendable".
