The owner of an island food kiosk and pizza truck says her team is "shaken" after the business was targeted by criminals.

Mim's World said an attempt was made to force entry into its kiosk at Cobo, Guernsey, in the early hours of Tuesday and their pizza truck was broken into with cash taken and oil poured inside the van.

Guernsey Police said it was investigating and urging people with information to get in contact.

Owner Mim Sarre said: "I'd just like to thank everybody for all their support... it's very, very endearing and we all really appreciate it."

In a post on social media, Mim's World said: "An amount of cash was stolen and for reasons we simply cannot understand, oil was then poured throughout the pizza truck, causing significant additional damage and disruption.

"Thankfully, the kiosk remained secure, despite attempts to force open the hatch!"

It added beyond the financial cost and damage, there was a very "real human impact".

"We are shaken, and a little scared to be honest," the post said.

"We know we have a wonderful community around us and we're sure we'll bounce back, but for now, please bear with us while we deal with everything."
