Watch as farmer uses tractor to shunt neighbour's truck in road row

Farmer fined for hoisting neighbour's truck with tractor

A farmer used his tractor to lift and move a neighbour's pickup truck off the ground, causing enough damage to write off the vehicle, after a dispute over access to his land.

Cerdin Jones, 53, from Llanarth in Ceredigion, drove his Massey Ferguson tractor into the Fiat Fullback, hoisting it up and moving it about 20 yards (18 metres) through a country lane.

The pickup truck belonged to neighbouring farmer Anwen Hughes and was later written off due to the estimated £5,000 worth of damage.

He was found guilty of criminal damage to property and was handed a fine and given a restraining order at Aberystwyth Magistrates' Court last month.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the restraining order prevented Jones from attempting to enter the farm, as well as accessing the lane where the incident took place.

The lane was owned by Hughes, but Jones has a right of way to access his own farmland.

Jones was also ordered to pay costs of £650 and a surcharge of £150 on 10 September.
