Fire at flat block's bin store treated as arson
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue ServiceA fire in a bin store in a block of flats was believed to have been started deliberately, a fire service said.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Aspen Close, Rushden, at about 00:15 BST, and crews left the scene at about 01:30.
The service said the blaze spread to the ceiling and electrics in the communal area of the flats and a hose reel was used to put the fire out.
Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and ventilated the building to clear the smoke.
An investigation into the cause is due to be carried out, the service added.
