A number of free events will return to St Helier's waterfront for the third year in a row.

The Jersey Development Company (JDC) said it would be running a series of lunchtime wellness sessions including pilates on a Tuesday, yoga on a Thursday and reading sessions every Wednesday at Marina Gardens.

After-work DJ sets held on Fridays from 17:00 BST will be played at Trenton Square for eight weeks from 3 July with no ticket required.

JDC CEO Lee Henry said there had been a "fantastic community response" over the years and he wanted to make the waterfront a popular place to spend time.

"The outdoor areas of the waterfront are becoming a real destination for islanders and visitors during the summer months, whether people are looking to relax, enjoy wellness activities, meet friends after work, or simply spend time enjoying the outdoors," added Henry.

JDC said pilates and yoga sessions would be held from 2 June until 24 September and the reading sessions, organised in partnership with the Every Child Our Future charity, would take place from 1 July until 12 August.

It said people could bring their own books and that a selection would be able to take away or swap.

Henry said the new pilates and reading sessions reflected its "ongoing commitment to creating vibrant public spaces that contribute positively to island life and wellbeing".
