Historical links between Poland and East Yorkshire will be celebrated at a "wonderful" new exhibition.

The Cześć, to my! (Hi, it's us!) exhibition will be held at Beverley's Treasure House from Saturday 13 June until Saturday 3 October.

The exhibition reveals how Beverley and Poland once traded goods by sea and explores the Polish settlers in the 19th century who established businesses in Hull.

Councillor Nick Coultish, of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: ''This wonderful exhibition traces the connections between Poland and East Yorkshire from the Medieval trading era through to the vibrant Polish community that continues to thrive in the region today."

As well as trading links, the exhibition explores the role played by Polish airmen stationed at RAF Leconfield and Hutton Cranswick during the Second World War.

The exhibition was researched and produced in partnership with Irena Sendlers Polish School in Hull, members of the Polish community, local historians and East Riding Museums.

Joanna Radecka, from the school, said the exhibition highlighted the "strong Polish-British connections in Yorkshire" and also offered visitors the chance to "appreciate our flourishing community today".

She added: "As a representative of the local Polish community, I am honoured and grateful to see our rich history and contributions celebrated."

The exhibition was initially held at the Streetlife Museum in Hull in 2025, but has since been expanded to include new displays about East Yorkshire.
