Fishing firm to build new plant as sale approved
Guy HendersonA fishing company is set to build a new plant as part of the next stage of an industrial development.
Torbay Council's cabinet voted unanimously to sell 6.5 acres of land at a former brickworks and waste quarry in Claylands, Paignton, to Brixham Trawler Agents (BTA).
BTA, who provide commercial services to the fishing fleet at the Devon port which is the busiest in the country in terms of catch, will move some of its operations from Oxen Cove, where a major new development is proposed.
The development will go alongside the Investment Castings factory which opened at Claylands several years ago, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
