Coastguard spotted the vessel appearing to struggle

A boat has been rescued after becoming caught in stormy conditions

Jersey Coastguard spotted the sailing vessel travelling south of the Demi de Pas lighthouse at about 16:25 BST on Sunday appearing to struggle.

The St Helier RNLI all-weather lifeboat was paged to assess the situation.

The crew found the boat could not make much progress in the strong wides and tides so helped it reach St Helier, rescuers said. There were no reports of any injuries.
