County lines heroin and cocaine dealers jailed

Two men involved in county lines drug dealing in South and West Yorkshire have been jailed.

According to South Yorkshire Police, Shamas Mahmood, known as Curly, and Amaad Zahoor would travel from West Yorkshire to Barnsley to deal heroin and crack cocaine.

Both were caught by officers and later pleaded guilty to a number of drug offences at Sheffield Crown Court in June.

At the same court on Monday, Mahmood, 29 and of Rushton Road, Bradford, was jailed for five years and nine months while Zahoor, 28 and of Bridge Street, Bradford, was jailed for four years and six months.

Mahmood had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Mahmood had also been charged with two modern slavery offences but was found not guilty following a trial in June.

Zahoor had pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

According to police, Zahoor was arrested in December 2024 while Mahmood was arrested in November 2025 after he was detained for unrelated matters in West Yorkshire.

Det Con Chris Shirt, who was the officer in charge of the case, said it was estimated the two men made about £400,000 a year from their illegal enterprise.

"This is a vast amount of money that would most likely make them feel invincible, but they are now facing the consequences of their illegal actions behind bars," said Shirt.

"Our work is continuing around the dismantling of organised criminality such as drug supply across the district, but we cannot do it alone.

"A lot of our investigations rely on information that is fed in by you, our residents. You know your local community the best. If you see something suspicious, report it."
