Shops given three-month shutdown orders after probe
GoogleTwo convenience stores in north Liverpool face being stripped of their premises licences after being shut down by the courts.
Closure orders have been issued by magistrates on shops in Norris Green and Old Swan following investigations by Liverpool Council's Trading Standards teams.
A business on Utting Avenue was shut down over underage vape sales, and illegal cigarettes and tobacco.
A similar order was made for the Old Swan Off Licence on Prescot Road.
Magistrates said the Utting Avenue shop would need to close for three months to "prevent the behaviour, nuisance or disorder from continuing, recurring or occurring," the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
Hearings will now be scheduled by Liverpool Council so its licensing and gambling committee can decided whether the shops can carry on selling alcohol.
People have until Tuesday to submit objections or other evidence to the committee.
