Police appeal as man dies after fall from car
BBCPolice have appealed for witnesses after a man died following a fall from a car.
Northumbria Police said it happened in Station Car Park, Sunderland, just after 06:00 BST on Sunday.
The force said "for reasons to be established" a 32-year-old man fell from a silver Ford Tourneo car.
The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died on Monday. A 36-year-old woman arrested at the scene was later released pending further inquiries.
Sgt Dave Roberts said: "As always, the thoughts of everyone here at Northumbria Police are with his friends, family, and loved ones as they process their loss.
"Our inquiries are at an early stage, but as part of our investigation, we're looking to speak to anyone who may have information which could assist us in establishing how the man came to exit the vehicle.
"We're especially keen to hear from anyone who may have seen four people walking towards Station Car Park in Sunderland at around 6am - just before this incident took place."
He added: "Even the smallest detail could make a massive difference to our investigation.
"This is a totally tragic incident which has resulted in a man losing his life."
Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact Northumbria Police.
