Accused said he would 'stain' killed boy, jury told
GoFundMeA teenager accused of murdering a 15-year-old in a row over money told a school friend he was "going to stain this yout" days before the attack, jurors have heard.
The defendant and another teenager both deny murdering Luis Guembes in Stoke Park, Guildford in January.
In a police interview played to Guildford Crown Court the witness said the slang term, which he had heard previously on social media, means to kill someone.
But he thought the teenager, who he described as a "happy, non-aggressive, peaceful guy" was joking or being sarcastic when he said it.
The two defendents cannot be named because of their age. They were 15 and 16 at the time of the incident and are now both 16 years old.
They also face charges of conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article, to which one of them has pleaded guilty.
Previously the court heard the defendants "agreed to rob" Guembes in order to settle "a debt he owed concerning a broken mobile phone".
In the interview with Det Con Rob Franklin in April, the witness said the defendant was "quite angry" about his phone "but he got over it".
When the officer asked him if he thought the teenager was going to do anything serious, the witness replied: "No".
He said he never saw the teenager being "violent towards anybody".
The court heard no challenge to the witness's evidence.
He told the teenager's defence counsel that the term "stain" also means to rob.
He also said he told police that, as far as he was aware, the teenager did not know Guembes and the broken phone was linked to a blood sugar monitor for diabetes.
Later jurors were shown images of a pair of trainers found at the home of one of the defendants, which had traces of blood.
The court heard the DNA profiles matched Luis Guembes, as did DNA from stains of apparent blood on a soap dish, the court heard.
The trial continues.
