JLS are among the performers at a new series of outdoor music events due to take place in Leicester next summer.

The events, branded Leicester Live will take place in Abbey Park in August.

Promotor Supermodified said the series will bring "major live music performances to one of the city's most historic and picturesque locations".

The boy band are due to perform on 19 August, alongside Pixie Lott and The Wanted 2.0 before Ministry of Sound Classical take to the stage on 21 August along with Paul Oakenfold, Angie Brown and King Brasstards.

Lee Suter, co-founder of Supermodified said: "Leicester is a brilliant city with a strong sense of identity, and Abbey Park provides a really special setting for live music.

"The combination of its beautiful green spaces, lakes and historic surroundings makes it an exciting place to bring major outdoor concerts."

Meanwhile The Park Series - which also stages concerts in outdoor settings - is due to bring Becky Hill and Craig David to Abbey Park in June.
