'Somebody must know' who killed woman, family says
SuppliedThe family of a woman murdered and dumped in a stream on remote moorland have said somebody must know who killed her.
Vicky Glass vanished from Middlesbrough days after her 21st birthday in 2000 in what has become a notorious unsolved case.
Now her father and stepdad have spoken about the "soul-destroying" search for answers - 26 years to the day since her body was found.
Her dad, Tony Glass, said: "It's been 26 years of hell. You can't understand unless you've been through it, she was wiped off the face of the earth, 26 years of nothingness. It destroys your soul, it really does."
"Somebody knows... where Vicky had been taken to and where Vicky was left. Please come forward and give the police some information, no matter how little. Those that know are either very clever or they just don't care."
SuppliedVicky Glass was a vulnerable woman who had a heroin addiction and had been drawn in to sex work.
She was found dead at Danby in North Yorkshire on 3 November 2000 - six weeks after she went missing.
Her mother, Deborah, died without seeing justice for her daughter.
Vicky's stepfather, Colin Goodall, said: "It would be good to get justice but it won't heal the hurt we feel.
"She was this little thing, you just wanted to cuddle her, everybody loved her. Everybody misses her, even now."
SuppliedFour men have been arrested over the years, including a 65-year-old man in June this year who remains on police bail. Nobody has ever been charged but a Cleveland Police cold case team continues to investigate.
Det Ch Insp Steve Chatterton, of Cleveland Police, said: "Whoever has done this is somebody's son, partner, husband, friend, and they are living with that person. I think there's somebody out there that has information."
A Crimestoppers reward of £20,000 is now available in return for crucial information about the case.
