Detectives investigating the murder of a man who was found dead in woodland want to hear from anyone who saw "two men acting suspiciously".

Graham Pennycook, 64, failed to return home on 24 September after walking his dog. His body was found later that day in woods next to Perham Down polo field in Ludgershall, Wiltshire.

Det Ch Insp Phil Walker said: "I am really keen to hear from anyone who witnessed two males that looked out of place, or were acting suspiciously, in the woods on the morning of the 24 September, especially between 10:00 BST and 11:00."

Police also urged people to get in touch if they saw any vehicles "driving erratically" or seen "in an unusual place".

Pennycook was reported missing by his wife at 15:41 BST when his dog came home without him.

He was wearing a blue collared t-shirt, a grey zip-up gilet, a dark coloured baseball cap, dark blue shorts, brown walking shoes and reading glasses.

Walker added: "I am grateful for the engagement and support from the community but I believe there are people who were in, or close to, Perham Down that have not yet come forward and I would urge you to engage with our investigation.

"We know the area is a popular place to walk your dog, ride your bike or undertake other forms of exercise and 24 September was no different.

"If you were there that day, and haven't yet done so, please contact us as you may hold vital information."

Pennycook's wife Jacky described her husband as a "kind and generous" man when she issued a tribute to him earlier this month.

She added: "He was a pillar of strength, trusted by all and always on hand to help family and friends whenever needed."
