Road blocked for seven miles after crash

A dual carriageway was blocked for seven miles (11.54 km) following a two-vehicle crash.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said it sent three crews to junction 47 of the A14 westbound carriageway at Woolpit at about 07:55 BST to help extricate a male driver from one of the vehicles.

National Highways said there were long delays with congestion back to junction 50 for Stowmarket, while a police spokesperson added that no injuries had been reported.

Road users were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

The fire service added that the collision had caused damage to the central reservation.
